Ruth Bernstein

Socks? Yuck.

Ruth takes the side of sandals. But if she needs to, she’ll oblige and wear socks and shoes.

She takes the side of a sunny beach, but she also loves the brisk rush of skiing on fresh powder. She takes the side of a cold fruity drink with friends, and the laughter of her children.

She takes the side of research. The work she has done has helped to secure millions of dollars in voter-approved funding for schools, transportation, libraries and other community improvements. Her research has paved the way for social marketing efforts that have, among other things, improved access to health care for the underserved, improved composting and recycling rates, and improved use of sustainable energies and materials.

Professional Précis

Be it questionnaire and sample design, moderation of focus groups, analysis of research results, or implementation of findings, Ruth has more than 10 years of experience in every aspect of survey research.

She has designed and directed hundreds of research projects for a variety of political, corporate, government and nonprofit clients. Her recent work includes: extensive multilingual studies regarding health options for the underserved; polling for successful bond, parcel and sales tax measures; guiding candidates to successful elections; and, evaluating public information or marketing efforts.

Ruth is a partner in the firm of Evans/McDonough Company, and a collaborator with Worldways Social Marketing since 1999. Previously, she staffed and managed political campaigns in California and Arizona. She received a B.A. in economics from Smith College.
