Maureen Cronin
Loves Being Nona
Maureen takes the side of her grandsons. She keeps a bag with her when she travels, and slowly fills it with gifts. When it’s full enough, she lets them open it. (Her grandsons take the side of Nona’s Traveling Magic Bag.)
She takes the side of early Beatles albums and her little black dress.
She takes the side of coffee and getting-to-the-point. Prerequisites for conversing with Maureen are dark-roast Starbucks coffee and Fat-Free French Vanilla Coffee-mate. This is evidenced by the sign in her office window that reads, “Danger! High voltage! Keep away!”
She takes the side of a good cause. She’s volunteered her time as a victim’s advocate with the District Attorney’s office to help people affected by domestic violence and helped create a much-needed federally qualified health center in her home town of Manchester, New Hampshire.
Also, as a volunteer for New Hampshire’s avocational archaeology program, she discovered a nail from General John Stark’s cook wagon at his muster site for the Battle of Bennington.
