Nemours Health & Prevention Services Launches Pirate-Themed Campaign In Delaware

Posted: 08.03.07 to Headlines

On Saturday, July 14, Nemours Health & Prevention Services hosted “Pirate Island,” which introduced the pirate-themed campaign designed by Worldways Social Marketing to promote the 5-2-1-Almost None message at the 13th Annual Nanticoke Riverfest in Seaford, Delaware. The event kicked off with “authentic” pirates arriving by boat and parading from the Nanticoke River to the new pirate-themed obstacle course. Over 300 youngsters bounced through the course on hippity-hop balls, learning about the 5-2-1-Almost None healthy lifestyle at each station along the way. After finishing the course, participants were given 5-2-1-Almost None “pirate booty bag” of fruit, water, a pirate bandana, and a tip sheet. The goal of the event was to show parents and kids how easy it is to live the 5-2-1-Almost None lifestyle.

This is the first of many activities that will be tied to the social marketing campaign with the goal of “Making Delaware’s Kids the Healthiest in the Nation.” Check back for more information about events, contests, advertising, and other aspects of the campaign.
