On The Side Of Healthier Kids

Nemours Health & Prevention Services (NHPS) has set the bold goal of making Delaware’s kids the healthiest in the nation. Using the groundbreaking Healthy People/Healthy Places Framework as a guide, Worldways Social Marketing is supporting NHPS by developing a statewide campaign to bring about broad changes in policy, practice and behavior.

The campaign is distinctive because of its dual focus on opinion leaders and families. By promoting healthy habits for children — while simultaneously working with community partners to provide the opportunity for children to keep those habits — we are increasing the ability and motivation for Delaware’s children to live healthier lives.

In the campaign for adults, we are rolling out an array of finely targeted TV, radio, and print advertising aimed at policymakers and community leaders. In the campaign for kids and their families, we have created an animated TV series, The Mighty Timoneers, a Website, an activity guide, and a companion pocket guide for parents.

The Campaign to Make Delaware’s Kids the Healthiest in the Nation launched in October 2007. More than 125 leaders from throughout the state, led by Governor Ruth Ann Minner, have already joined together to support the multi-year campaign.
